Thur. 11 – 550 Blues – Macon, GA. I’ve been home since November 5 for the holidays. Its been great, but its time to hit the road again for the first quarter of the new year to Florida. Macon is always a good first stop. Marvin and Billy were supposed to ride together to meet me there, but Billy had to head out of town unexpectedly. Greg Stewart subbed on drums for him and did a great job. Its always nice to see many old friends as well as many new ones in Macon. After the gig, it is on to Tallahassee for the Heritage Blues Festival and to then start a new electris CD to be released next year. The new acoustic CD is not even out a month, and already it has been aired all over the world. XM Radio has picked it up and is giving it some great support. Its just the shot we’re looking for.
Fri. 12 - Arrived in Tallahassee for the Heritage Blues Festival at the Bradfordville Blues Club. Its always great to set the trailer up for a while in one place.
Sat. 13 - Conducted a guitar workshop on the small stage outside at the BBC. I'm often very humbled by the folks that bring their guitars and want to learn about the blues and traditional music, and that I have the honor of teaching them, even though the time we have is rather short. Played guitar as a guest for Johnny Rawls set that evening.
Sun. 13 - Played an afternoon acoustic set at the Mockingbird Cafe in nearby Havana, FL, which is an enjoyable small venue that I happened upon. That evening, I then started recording a new CD with my friend, drummer and producer, Michael Traylor in his studio in Tallahassee.
Monday 14 - Thursday 26.
